Cat Name Finder
A small collection of names with plenty of personality. All suggestions can suit any cat.

How to find a name you like
Start with a style, or leave “All styles” selected to see the full collection. Add a starting letter if you already have one in mind. The optional “Contains” field finds a sequence of letters anywhere in a name.
Try “Cozy & sweet” with “mis” to find Miso. Try “Nature inspired” with the starting letter M to see Meadow and Moss. Leave the spelling field empty when you want a broader list.
Filters work together. If you choose a starting letter and a spelling fragment that do not occur in the same name, you will see no matches. Clear one filter or use Reset to begin again.
Four styles to explore
Cozy and sweet
This collection includes warm, friendly choices such as Biscuit, Maple, Miso, Olive and Winnie. Use it as a starting point if you like names inspired by familiar comforts or food.
Nature inspired
Ash, Fern, Juniper, River and Willow bring plants and landscapes into the shortlist. Pick a word you enjoy saying; there is no need for it to describe your cat’s appearance.
Playful
Try Doodle, Noodle, Pixel, Waffles or Ziggy when a lighthearted name appeals to you. Before deciding, say it in an ordinary sentence, including the version you would use at the veterinary clinic.
Classic
Bella, Felix, Jasper, Lucy and Oscar sit in the classic collection. These are editorial categories, not popularity rankings or claims about the origins of the names.
Turn a long list into three favorites
- Choose a handful that you like without trying to find a perfect match immediately.
- Say each one aloud, including any nickname you would actually use.
- Check that everyone in the household is comfortable using it.
- Write down your final three and compare their spelling, sound and nicknames.
For example, your shortlist might be Juniper, Miso and Cleo. You might prefer Juniper on paper but find that you naturally say “June.” In that case, compare June with the other two before you settle on the longer version.
You can also keep a name your adopted cat already has. The finder is a source of ideas, not a reason that a cat needs a new name.
Frequently asked questions
How many names are included?
There are 72 names across four collections. Results are filtered from that fixed list and shown alphabetically. This is not an AI name generator and it does not invent a new list each time.
Can I use these names for any cat?
Yes. The tool does not restrict suggestions by sex, breed or color. Choose a name that suits your preferences.
Why are there no results for my letter?
This is a small collection, so some starting letters are not represented. Try another letter or remove that filter.
Does the tool check whether a name is unique?
No. It does not search pet registrations, social accounts or trademarks. Its purpose is to help you make a personal shortlist.
Are my searches submitted?
No. Filtering happens in your browser. The finder does not submit your search text or save your favorites.
